Hillardsbeer has taken me on a journey like I would have never imagined, from the outback of Australia to the depths of Indiana, I have been to some places I would have never had imagined.
My first travelling experience was in Morocco, utterly by mistake I began Hillardsbeer and dedicated my time to seeing the world.
Morocco is a magnificent is a rich blend of Arab, Berber, European and African influences which all fuse together in the smells, sights, tastes and people in this captivating country.
From its ancient and modern architectures to markets which will take your breath away, you can spend hours on end wandering the streets and finding delicious bakeries to indulge. This is certainly a bucket list country I urge everyone to visit.
Next up, I headed to Italy and spend some time travelling around Rome, Sicily and Naples. If you love food and wine as much as I do then a trip to Italy is the perfect travelling escape for you.
I went to Italy on a trip with my brother around Europe and it did not disappoint. Be prepared to part with a little more money than your normal travel excursions as Italy is pricey but it is worth it! Enjoy the glorious weather, delicious food and gracious locals.
Another one of my very favourite travel destinations is Cambodia, a rustic corner of the earth that is a must when seeing the rest of Asia.
You’ll have never stumbled across so many glorious temples, waterfalls and jungles as you do in Cambodia. We accidently stumbled upon this beautiful country when on a trip to Thailand, we made a split decision to explore somewhere else for a couple of days, a couple of days turned into 10 days and I just fell in love with the people, country and culture.
On this trip we also made our way to Vietnam, this was upon the recommendation of my girlfriend who had spent a summer volunteering here in 2006. Although rich in diversity, the striking divisions between rich and poor is a little hard to swallow and something I certainly struggled to come to terms with. Make sure you explore every inch of this amazing country, drinking the local ales, eating traditional street food and taking long walks through the vast jungle, just be sure to take a guide with you.
My latest excursion in my mission to try a native beer in every country was Iceland, usually, you may say but a trip none the less.
Iceland is a country I encourage everyone of my readers to visit, it’s utterly breath-taking during daylight hours and the night. I was lucky enough to enjoy the spectacle of the Northern Lights, the multi-coloured phenomenon really is a sight to behold as well as the hot springs, blue lagoon and Golden circle, you’ll need a decent little chunk of time to see everything Iceland has to offer. Not everyone experiences the Northern Lights but if you do, you’re in for a real treat.
My journey so far has been remarkable and I hope you continue to enjoy following me on this incredible journey. If you have any questions for me or would like to recommend any new countries for myself and my brother to visit, then please get in touch following the contact me page.
