The Canadian Night Life Scene
Before I actually get into the specifics of what the night life scene of Canada has to offer, I must get it out of the way that this is a vast country we’re talking about, so there are undeniably lots of gaps which would probably take more than one lifetime to fill in, even by the most seasoned of clubbers! I’m merely offering my own guide from the point of view of someone who has only recently just discovered Canada as a preferred destination to escape to, for a range of fun activities beyond just the night life.
So what does the Canadian night life scene have to offer?
Get the party started early
The pick of the bunch for me is Thornhaven Estates Winery in Canada, otherwise it’s a good idea to get the party started early with a visit to a wine estate. You’ll be thrilled by the natural beauty of the surroundings while enjoying a taste of the wines to perk up your taste buds a bit for later and there are plenty of other activities to enjoy.
The night life
There’s no doubt about Toronto being where the party’s at in Canada, but Ontario as a whole probably has some good spots to party the night away in. That said, if it’s a proper party you’re looking for, head to the Fly Toronto. This is a proper dance club where it’s all about drinking and getting down. Some of the world’s top DJs might just be in town as well when you’re there.
If some elite clubbing with the prospect of some party romance is more to your liking, Tryst Toronto is the place to be, otherwise you can drink and party it up at Rumours, which has been around since back in 1981.
Over at Dragonfly, Friday is ladies night – need I say more?!
Curing the hangover – the morning after
Look, I don’t know if this is universal, but for me personally nothing cures a hangover faster than a greasy breakfast and well, catching a whiff of animal dung, which is why I’d suggest you head over to the zoo after a heavy night of partying. After grabbing a traditional North American breakfast, head on over to the Bowmanville Zoo, which has plenty of animal species to view over 42 acres of land, and if you’re not too hung-over you can enjoy some lessons about the animals in addition to trying out my animal-dung smelling cure for a hangover.
A quick word on clearing immigration while visiting Canada
When it comes to pre-clearance systems such as the ETA visa Canada is one of the leaders in the entire world as far as efficiency goes, so a word of warning to unruly travellers like I once was at some point in my life. Don’t arrive already drunk out of your mind – there’s plenty of partying to be enjoyed once you’re in the country, otherwise you might find yourself taking a lot longer to clear customs as the duty officers try to work through your intoxicated state to figure out if you’re a genuine tourist or not. That’s just common sense though, isn’t it?
